1. General Provisions
- Definitions: "Client," "Student," "You," and "Your" refer to you, the person logging onto this website and compliant with the Company’s terms. "The Company," "Ourselves," "We," "Our," and "Us," refer to The Oxchange Ltd.
- Services: The Oxford Essay provides academic competitions, Test Preparation Services for the LNAT (National Admissions Test for Law), and Research & Writing tutorials (1:1 and small group classes).
2. The Oxford Essay Competition
By submitting an entry to The Oxford Essay Competition, you agree to the following strict academic integrity guidelines:
- Originality: All submitted essays must be entirely the student's original work. You may not use an essay that you have previously written for another contest. You must properly cite all external sources; any incidences of plagiarism will immediately disqualify the essay from further consideration.
- Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy: The use of AI generation tools (including, but not limited to, ChatGPT) is strictly prohibited. If we detect that a student has used AI to write or generate their essay, they will be instantly disqualified or asked to resubmit at the sole discretion of the judging panel.
- Intellectual Property: By submitting an essay, the student retains the copyright to their work. However, the student grants The Oxford Essay a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to publish, display, and distribute the essay for promotional and educational purposes.
- Decisions: All decisions made by The Oxford Essay judging committee regarding scores, placements, and scholarship allocations are final and not subject to appeal.
3. LNAT Test Prep & Academic Tutorials
We offer highly specialized LNAT preparation and Research & Writing classes taught by our expert faculty. The following terms apply to all educational services:
- No Guarantee of Results: While our faculty provides world-class instruction, The Oxford Essay does not and cannot guarantee specific LNAT scores, university admission, or academic grades resulting from our tutorials. Admission to institutions such as the University of Oxford or Cambridge is highly competitive and relies on factors outside our control.
- Scheduling and Cancellations: * All 1:1 tutorials must be scheduled in advance through our booking system.
- Clients must provide a minimum of 24 hours' written notice to cancel or reschedule a 1:1 tutorial. Failure to provide 24 hours' notice will result in the forfeiture of that session without a refund.
- Group class schedules are fixed. If a student misses a group class, no partial refunds or dedicated make-up sessions will be provided, though course materials will be made available.
- Faculty Assignment: While we strive to match students with their preferred tutors, The Oxford Essay reserves the right to substitute faculty members for 1:1 or group sessions in the event of illness, scheduling conflicts, or emergencies.
4. Payment and Refund Policy
- Payments: All fees for the essay competition entry (if applicable), LNAT test prep, and tutorial classes must be paid in full prior to the commencement of services.
- Refunds: * Tutorials & Classes: A full refund will be issued if the client cancels in writing at least 7 days before the first scheduled session. No refunds will be issued once the first session has commenced or if the cancellation occurs within 7 days of the start date.
- Competitions: Entry fees for the Oxford Essay Competition (if applicable) are strictly non-refundable once the essay has been submitted for review.
5. Code of Conduct
The Oxford Essay maintains a zero-tolerance policy for disruptive, disrespectful, or inappropriate behavior during our 1:1 tutorials and small group classes. We reserve the right to immediately suspend or terminate a student's enrolment, without refund, if they engage in harassment, bullying, or failure to comply with the instructions of our faculty.
