Beyond her fame as a novelist, Sayers wrote The Lost Tools of Learning, a brilliant essay that single-handedly sparked the modern classical education movement. She championed teaching students how to think, not what to think.

The Newman and Sayers Fellowship for Educators

In Partnership with The Institute of Leadership (IoL)

The Newman and Sayers Fellowship is a fully funded academic residency and professional development programme awarded to outstanding international educators. Named in honour of two of the most influential educational philosophers, this Fellowship empowers teachers to expand their leadership capabilities while guiding their top students through a transformative Oxford experience.


The Fellowship Award Includes:

  • Full Room and Board: Fully funded accommodation and dining at Oriel College, Oxford alongside your student cohort.
  • Professional Certification: Enrolment in our advanced educator-track Leadership Course.
  • Global Recognition: Upon successful completion, educators are awarded official Fellowship status with both The Institute of Leadership (FIoL) and The Oxford Exchange.


How to Qualify:

This Fellowship is automatically awarded to any school or educator who successfully enrols a minimum cohort of six students into our 2027 academic residencies. (Note: One fully funded Fellowship is awarded per every six enroled students).

EXCITING NEWS - EDUCATOR FELLOWSHIP


Please complete the Interest Form to express your interest in accompanying students from your school to Oxford. You will be housed in an Oxford college room and provide two meals a day as you participate in our programme for educators. We also provide evening activities such as a concert or tours as well as a London day trip. We will also provide you with Oxford University Library Card.
